These terms govern your use of the LeilCab applications and website, operated by LeilCab (RC 1234). By creating an account, you accept these terms.
1. What LeilCab Is
LeilCab is a technology platform that connects riders with independent drivers. We are not a transport company and we do not employ drivers or own the vehicles. The transport contract is between you and the driver. Our role is to provide the platform, set the fare structure, and handle payment.
2. Your Account
You must be 18 or over and provide accurate information. Your account is yours alone — do not let anyone else use it.
Tell us immediately at info@leicad.co.uk if you believe someone else has access to your account.
We may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, for fraud, or where we reasonably believe there is a threat to someone's safety.
3. Booking and Cancelling
- A booking is a request. It becomes a trip when a driver accepts it.
- You may cancel before the driver arrives. A cancellation fee applies if you cancel after a driver has accepted and travelled toward you, or if you are not present when they arrive. The current fee is shown in the app before you confirm.
- A driver may decline or cancel a trip.
4. Fares and Payment
- Fares are calculated from distance and time, plus any applicable booking fee, waiting time, or additional charges, and are shown before you confirm.
- Fares may be higher at busy times. Any such increase is shown before you confirm the booking.
- The final fare may differ from the estimate if the route or destination changes during the trip.
- Payment is by in-app wallet or the methods offered at booking. You are responsible for maintaining sufficient balance.
- Wallet balances are for LeilCab trips. Refunds of unused balance are at our discretion and may be subject to a processing fee.
- Tolls, parking, and similar third-party charges incurred during your trip are yours to pay.
5. Drivers
Drivers use LeilCab as independent contractors. They set their own hours and choose which trips to accept.
We verify licences, vehicle documents, and insurance at onboarding and periodically, but we do not supervise how a driver drives.
Drivers are paid the fare less our service fee, which is disclosed in the driver app.
6. How You Must Behave
You must not:
- Use LeilCab for anything unlawful or to transport prohibited goods.
- Damage a vehicle or behave abusively toward a driver or another rider.
- Travel with more passengers than the vehicle is licensed for.
- Create accounts to abuse promotional credit or attempt to interfere with the platform.
You must wear a seatbelt.
You are responsible for the conduct of anyone travelling with you and for the cost of cleaning or repairing damage you cause.
7. Safety
Every trip is recorded on our systems. The app provides an emergency contact feature and shares trip details with contacts you nominate.
In an emergency, call the Nigerian emergency services first, then report the incident to us.
8. Lost Property
Tell us at info@leicad.co.uk as soon as you can. We will try to put you in touch with the driver.
We are not responsible for property left in a vehicle.
9. Our Liability
We provide the platform with reasonable skill and care, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Estimates of arrival time, distance, and fare are estimates only.
Because the transport contract is between you and the driver, we are not liable for the driver's conduct or the condition of the vehicle, beyond our obligation to verify documents as described above.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including missed flights, appointments, or business opportunities. Where we are found liable, our total liability for any trip is limited to the fare for that trip.
Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Complaints
Email info@leicad.co.uk or use in-app support.
We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 14 days.
11. Changes
We may change these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email at least 14 days before taking effect.
Continuing to use LeilCab after that means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction.
